Why do you need ergonomics?
Ergonomics is the study of humans and their interactions with the physical environment and all activities in the workplace should be risk assessed.
Poor ergonomics can lead to awkward postures, repetitive strain, excessive force, which are major contributors to injuries, chronic pain and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD’s) leading to fatigue, low morale and high absenteeism.
Ergonomic assessments and programs, can help identify the risks factors and implement solutions to allow improved posture, reduce strain on muscles, joints, and tendons.
Other benefits can be improved efficiency, employee well-being and job satisfaction.
I am an ergonomist specialising in helping individuals and organisations create healthier, safer and more efficient ways of working. My focus is on understanding how people interact with their environment, equipment and tasks and then recommending solutions that reduce discomfort, prevent injury and improve performance.
